Who I Am

 I was born January 31, 1991...

in Peoria IL, in the Proctor Hospital where my father was also born. I have a mother, Jewel Shervanick, a step father, Tom Shervanick, a brother, Lee Gray and a step brother, Ryan Shervanick. My biological father, Robert “Bob” Gray, passed away after a long fight with pancreatic cancer in 2001. In that same year, our family moved to Morton, IL, where we spent five more years.

I have attended seven schools from early education to college. In my first year of high school, I was involved in Winter guard and Orchestra in which I played the violin. It was in 2nd grade that I started playing the violin. In 2006, my family decided to move to Mt. Juliet, Tenn. It was here that I spent the last three years of high school.

I attended Wilson Central High School where I was involved in a very competitive Choir and Marching Band. This new school did not have an Orchestra so I had to give up that little part of my life. Senior year I was given the honor of being colorguard captain with my best friend, Emily Buck. When I graduated high school, I wasn't entirely sure that I wanted to go to college. I went for my first year to Middle Tennessee State University and decided that it was right where I needed to be. I am a proud member of the MTSU Band of Blue. I am a visual communication major and am minoring in art and marketing. When I graduate I hope to work for a newspaper in the design department.

I have many interests including lying in the sun while drinking wine with my wonderful mother. I also dabble in photography, playing video games, hanging out with her family and friends, drawing and sleeping. In the end I would have to say that my favorite activity is sleeping. But cooking and reading are close seconds.

In October of 2011, I was proposed to by my then boyfriend, Marty McCarter. We have set the date of May 25, 2013 to be the day we seal the deal. I will be a peacock themed wedding. My mom and I were out looking at dresses when we found the perfect one.  After my four years at MTSU are over, I will finally walk down the aisle and start a new part of my life.
